Rehoboth Beach seeks community Christmas tree

August 6, 2025

We may still be in the thick of the summer season, but the City of Rehoboth Beach already has Christmas on its mind. Rehoboth Beach is seeking individuals who are willing to donate an evergreen tree to serve as its 2025 community Christmas tree.

The tree would be removed from the donor’s property and installed at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand the week before Thanksgiving. It will serve as the center of attention for the November 28 tree-lighting and holiday sing-along event – and throughout the holiday season.

Now, this is beginning to sound like an old-fashioned dating ad, but here goes: Nominated trees should be at least 25-35 feet tall, in good health, and with a nice shape. Please send photos of nominated trees to Erin Corcoran at ecorcoran@rehobothbeachde.gov. Call 302-227-6181, ext. 523 with any questions. Spruce and Douglas fir trees make great Christmas trees, but any nicely shaped evergreen will do the job.
