Shopping & Dining

Unique shops and fun boutiques along with an array of tasty restaurants are scattered throughout the city, with most concentrated in the downtown commercial district, which includes all of Rehoboth Avenue and along the boardwalk as well as the first two blocks (from the ocean) from Baltimore Avenue to Wilmington Avenue. Both the Chamber of Commerce and Main Street Rehoboth Beach websites provide more information about the city’s shops and restaurants. Several restaurants offer outdoor dining as well.

Free Entertainment

For more than 60 years, the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand has been a cherished summer tradition, bringing free live entertainment to the heart of downtown Rehoboth Beach. From mid-June through Labor Day weekend, audiences can enjoy open-air concerts featuring a diverse lineup of musical performers at 8pm every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Located at the ocean end of Rehoboth Avenue, the Bandstand continues to serve as a gathering place for residents and visitors alike. Explore the schedule and see who’s performing next.

Nature

If you want to get out and enjoy nature, you’re in the right place! Rehoboth Beach lies between two popular state parks. Combined Cape Henlopen State Park and Delaware Seashore State Park offer hiking/biking trails, fishing, bird-watching, and beach access.

Be sure to check out Rehoboth’s parks, which provide playgrounds, natural areas to relax or take a walk, pavilions available for rent, and more.

Biking

Rehoboth Beach is proud to be a bicycle-friendly community and fortunate to have accessibility to some of the region’s loveliest bike trails.

  • Enjoy a bike ride along the hardwood and pine forests, open fields, and coastal marshes of the Junction Breakwater Trail.
  • Pedal around Gordons Pond as you make your way toward Lewes through the diverse ecosystems of Cape Henlopen State Park. From Lewes, you can connect to the Junction Breakwater Trail and loop you way back to Rehoboth Beach.

Arts

If you’re feeling creative or you appreciate creativity, definitely check out the exhibits, events, and classes offered by the Rehoboth Art League.

Fishing

Within the City of Rehoboth Beach, fishing is permitted from the Children’s Fishing Pier, located on Lake Gerar near the intersection of 1st Street and Lake Avenue. Fishing on the beach is permitted in a designated area at the north end of the beach. Fishing also is permitted only in the designated area on the Grove Park Canal Dock. A Delaware fishing license is required for all residents ages 16-64 and for non-residents who are 16 and older.

Sports

Tennis, pickleball, and basketball courts are available on a first-come, first-served basis behind Rehoboth Elementary School. Tennis and pickleball courts may be reserved at nearby Deauville Beach.

Beach volleyball nets are set up on Hickman Street during the summer.

Dive into History

Located at 511 Rehoboth Avenue near the traffic circle, the Rehoboth Beach Historical Society and Museum brings the city’s history to life with exhibits, artifacts, events, and programming.

Farmers Market

The Rehoboth Beach Farmers Market is open from 10 am-2 pm Tuesdays May-October, rain or shine, at Grove Park. Vendors provide fresh, in-season produce as well as baked goods, jams and jellies, handcrafts, flowers, prepared foods, herbs, meats, and more.

Beach Reads

The Rehoboth Beach Public Library, at 226 Rehoboth Avenue, loans materials to visitors and non-residents for a limited time for a small fee.
