Rehoboth Beach Police Department to Participate in Special Olympics Delaware Law Enforcement Torch Run

The 40th Annual Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Delaware will make its stop in Rehoboth on Wednesday, June 10 at 7 pm with a short ceremony at the Bandstand, marking the conclusion of its coastal run portion. Rehoboth Beach officers, along with law enforcement personnel from across the state, will be participating in the following events:

  • Wednesday, June 10 – Torch Run Ceremony at the Rehoboth Beach Bandstand, 7:00 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 11 – Ceremony at Legislative Hall, 1:45 p.m.
  • Friday, June 12 – Opening Ceremony for the Summer Games at the University of Delaware, approximately 4:00 p.m.
  • Friday June 12- Saturday, June 13 — Special Olympics Delaware Summer Games. All are invited to support the athletes as fans.

The Torch Run is the signature event for Delaware Law Enforcement for Special Olympics, where hundreds of members of law enforcement carry the Flame of Hope across the state, lighting the way for acceptance and inclusion. Find more information here.
