Paid Parking Season Begins in the City of Rehoboth Beach May 15

May 14, 2026

A few tips, reminders and changes

Friday May 15 marks the start of paid parking season in the City of Rehoboth Beach, which will run through September 15. Parking fees have not changed, and drivers have the option of paying through a meter, ParkMobile, or a parking permit.

Here are a few general tips:

  • Head-in parking is required for all angled spots
  • Parallel parking is with the flow of traffic
  • When paying meters or using ParkMobile, include all letters and numbers of license plates (this includes the PC on Delaware tags)

What to Know About Meter Parking:

  • Meters require payment from 10 am-10 pm daily
  • As in previous years, rates are $4/hour
  • Payments can be made via meter (cash or card) or the ParkMobile app
  • Meters are assigned by zone, not individual spots. Zones are marked on all meters and within the app
  • Payment is required at 30-minute spaces

ParkMobile Tips:

  • Download the app before coming to park the first time
  • Save your vehicle and license plate info. Enter all numbers and letters as they appear on your license plate
  • If you have more than one vehicle saved, make sure to choose the correct one
  • Staying a little longer? Add time through the app without returning to your car

Permit Parking Tips:

  • Permit parking is in effect from 10 am-5 pm daily
  • Parking permits are for: daily, weekly, weekend, seasonal and scooters
  • Permits can be purchased at our Parking Building, or the kiosks at 409 Rehoboth Ave or the 700 block of Bayard Ave
  • Permits are not valid in metered spots. You still must pay the meter

Parking Lots:

The Convention Center parking lot is the only city-run lot. When parking there, utilize the central parking meter or ParkMobile. Other lots are not affiliated with the city and do not use ParkMobile, so any parking violations in those lots are not handled by the City.

New This Year – New Parking Zone in the Horseshoe:

Parking meters at in the Bandstand Horseshoe will be payable between 10:00am-6:00pm and will restrict payment after 6:00pm. These changes will be in effect on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, from Memorial Day through Labor Day, when there are concerts. We still have a lane for DART and the Jolley Trolley, and one lane for handicap drop-off, Uber, Doordash, etc.

How to Know Where to Use a Permit:

Our Parking Map is available on our web site. This shows which streets are in the metered zones (in orange). All others are permit spaces.

Reminder: to align with our parking schedule, starting tomorrow, dogs are not allowed on the beach or boardwalk; bikes are only allowed on the boardwalk between 5:00am-10:00am.
