Aeration Project Scheduled for Grove Park

From April 6 through April 15, Grove Park is scheduled for an aeration project on all the mature trees. The process will involve shooting compressed air into the ground to expose the roots in a 10ft diameter circle around each tree, the soil will be removed and replaced with compost and biochar.

If you have seen the piles of woodchips, they are from the recent blizzard and were staged in the park to expedite the cleanup. Though they will ultimately be spread out after the aeration project.

The path will be open for Marathon runners on Sunday, April 12, but the park should not be used for gatherings or playground usage during the project.
