City of Rehoboth Beach Seeks New Member of Planning Commission

The City of Rehoboth Beach is seeking applicants for consideration to fill a vacant seat on the Planning Commission with term ending September 18, 2026. The person appointed will be given consideration for reappointment in mid-September for a three-year term.
About the Planning Commission: Nine members form the City of Rehoboth Beach Planning Commission. It is a body appointed by the Mayor & Commissioners, and each member serves a three-year term. The Commission acts on requests to subdivide land; provides recommendations to the Mayor & Commissioners regarding zoning/rezoning; addresses land use and other matters referred to it by the Mayor and Commissioners; and develops, evaluates and makes revisions to the City’s Comprehensive Development Plan. The authority of the Planning Commission derives from Delaware Code, Chapter 7, Title 22. The Commission is primarily responsible for ensuring that the provisions of City Code Chapter 236 – Subdivision of Land are complied with and are in accord with Chapter 270 – Zoning.
The Planning Commission meets the fourth Friday of each month, unless otherwise noted. Meetings are held at 1:30pm in-person at City Hall. Time of meetings may fluctuate.
Qualifications: members on the Planning Commission shall be residents of the City of Rehoboth Beach, property owners of the City of Rehoboth Beach, registered voters in the City of Rehoboth Beach, or persons eligible to register to vote within the City of Rehoboth Beach.
