Sea Witch® parking restrictions and road closures
October 16, 2025
Don’t get scared, stay prepared: the annual Sea Witch® Festival, hosted by the Rehoboth Beach-Dewey Beach Chamber of Commerce, is October 24-26. The parade will glide down Rehoboth Avenue at 11 am on Saturday, October 25 and will bring parking restrictions and road closures throughout the city.
There is no overnight parking permitted for any Rehoboth Avenue parking spaces Thursday night, October 23 into Friday morning, October 24. Vehicles parked on Rehoboth Avenue between 1 am and 6 am Friday morning will be towed at the owner’s expense. As prohibited in recent years, there is also no median parking allowed beginning at 1 am on Saturday, October 25, through the end of the parade.
To ensure the parade runs safely, the following road closures will be placed around the city:
- Rehoboth Avenue will close to all traffic from 2 am Saturday through the removal of fencing following the parade (around 4 pm).
- Posted signage indicates prohibited parking areas on Rehoboth Avenue. In general, parking on Rehoboth Avenue is not recommended. Visitors are encouraged to use adjacent side streets for parking.
- 1st and 2nd streets can be utilized to cross Rehoboth Avenue until 9:30 am.
- A portion of 5th Street will be closed for balloon staging.
- The following streets will be closed for parade line-up: State Road, Sussex Street, and 4th Street.
- Most of Christian Street will be closed due to fence staging.
- Parking is restricted on Scarborough Avenue.
