Polar Bear Plunge Weekend Road Closures

Special Olympics Delaware’s annual Polar Bear Plunge Weekend is taking place Friday, February 27 through March 1. Please be advised of the following road closures and parking restrictions:
Friday, February 27
- The bandstand horseshoe will be closed to traffic starting on Friday through the end of the plunge on Sunday afternoon
Saturday, February 28
- 5K Run to the Plunge takes place on the Boardwalk at 10 am
Sunday, March 1
- No parking on the first block of Rehoboth Avenue, from 1st Street to the Boardwalk
- Parking is restricted by the boardwalk access of each street.
- On the first blocks of Wilmington and Baltimore Avenue, spaces will be reserved for rescue vehicles. These spaces will be marked with cones and “no parking” signage
These restrictions will be in place until after the Plunge has concluded.
