SUMMARY:Independence Day Fireworks
DESCRIPTION:The City of Rehoboth Beach will celebrate America’s 250th anniversary with a fireworks display on Sunday\, July 5. Weather permitting\, the display will launch around 9:30 pm from the beach on Brooklyn Avenue and will be visible along the beach and boardwalk. The Funsters will perform at the Bandstand starting at 8 pm and following the fireworks. \nPlease be aware that weather conditions may necessitate launching the fireworks early or delaying; any updates will be posted to the city’s website and social media. Because of the human resources required to safely host this event\, there is no rain date \nTraffic control and road closures\nRoad closures will be implemented to facilitate access and safety: \n\nThe bandstand area will be closed to vehicular traffic from 6 pm-midnight.\n​Beginning at 7 pm\, only bus traffic and residents will be permitted on Henlopen and Surf avenues.\nResidents on Henlopen Avenue and in Henlopen Acres and North Shores must access their residences via 2nd Street beginning at 7 pm.\nVehicles will not be able to cross Rehoboth Avenue at the circle beginning at 7:30 pm.\nRehoboth Avenue eastbound and Church Street from State Route 1 will be closed to vehicular traffic beginning at 8 pm. At that point\, all vehicles entering Rehoboth Beach will have to do so via State Road to Bayard Avenue.\nTo exit Rehoboth after the fireworks\, vehicles north of Rehoboth Avenue will be directed to exit via Rehoboth and Columbia avenues. Vehicles on the south side of Rehoboth Avenue will use Bayard Avenue to State Route 1 southbound only or Hickman or Munson streets to State Road to Route 1 north- and southbound.\n\nParking restrictions\nNo parking will be allowed in the following locations: \n\nSurf Avenue\nConvention Center parking lot\naround the bandstand\nGrenoble Place and Surfside Place\nmarked spots in part of the ocean block of Laurel Street\n\nAlternatives for getting here\nVisitors can utilize the DART Park & Ride Service to travel into downtown. Please note that the pickup/drop-off location for ALL routes until midnight is at the Henlopen Hotel. Visit the DART website or call 302-226-2001 for more information. \nIn addition\, the Jolly Trolley will operate its Rehoboth Beach and Dewey Beach shuttle services on a revised schedule. For more route information\, visit jollytrolley.com or call 302-644-0400. \n  \nParking\nMetered parking is in effect from 10 am-10 pm. Parking permits are enforced from 10 am-5 pm; after that\, permitted spaces are open for general use. Find more information on our parking page.  \nBathrooms\n \n\n\n\nHeaded to the beach and boardwalk for the weekend? There are multiple public restrooms on the boardwalk for your connivence:\n– Outside of the Henlopen Hotel\, there will be pop-up portable restrooms available Saturday and Sunday only. These restrooms will be installed Friday\, but will remain unopened until Saturday morning. This is the closest to DART’s Sunday bus stop.\n– As always\, our Beach Patrol on Baltimore Avenue\, at the Bandstand\, and on Delaware Avenue.\n\n\n\n\nThese locations will be open before\, during\, and after Sunday’s fireworks.
