Water Meter and Data Technician

Responsible for monthly and quarterly consumption data collection from water meters. Records changed meter information. Performs a variety of tasks in the operation and maintenance of water treatment facilities. Installs water mains for new customers and repairs existing infrastructure. Locates Miss Utility markings and maintains and repairs water wells. Tests water quality, adjusts chemical levels, and refills plant chemicals. Performs meter reading and repair. Responds to customer complaints. Operates the dump truck, sewer vacuum, and backhoe as required. Performs testing and prepares reports in compliance with state and federal agency requirements.
